Our Mission

To provide information, resources, and support to those who are infected or suspect they may be infected with Lyme and/or other tick borne diseases. Also to promote awareness and prevention within our community.

Lyme disease is a rapidly growing epidemic and ticks do not know geographical boundaries such as state lines. Greater than AIDS, West Nile Virus, and Avian Flu combined it will only get worse without funding for education and research.

Lyme disease masquerades as many other illnesses such as fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, MS and auto-immune diseases. It is much more difficult to eradicate in its later stages. Prevention or early detection and treatment is essential.

We are not alarmists but rather realists who have experienced Lyme here in Middle Tennessee and wish to warn others about this potentially debilitating disease and to help those who are suffering its effects.

Educate yourself…you may have to educate your physician.

This essay, written by John D. Bleiweiss, M.D. in April, 1994 is very long, but also very comprehensive. “Lyme and Tick-Borne Disease Prevention, Education, and Research Act of 2007” (H.R. 1179)—would improve tests used to diagnose Lyme disease, enhance the public health surveillance systems and improve our public education campaign to prevent new cases of Lyme disease. It also would create an advisory committee on Lyme and other tick-borne diseases.
